A Limerick chapter in the SNO Exchange story: three students, a three-week clinical exchange, and a conference year centered on community empowerment for health.
An early exchange year with real clinical depth.
The SNO Exchange had begun only the year before, and by 2018 it had already become a substantial cross-border learning opportunity connected to the annual TUFH conference.
For the 2018 exchange, three students were selected for a three-week program at the Graduate Entry Medical School at the University of Limerick. The two medical students joined Irish peers during a surgical rotation, while the pharmacology student completed a hospital pharmacy internship.
The wider conference gathered the student experience into a larger conversation about community empowerment, social accountability, and the role of institutions in building healthier systems with communities rather than around them.
