Camila's exchange was based in Sharjah, where she joined two research projects within the Nutrition Division of the Research Institute for Medical and Health Sciences.

Her learning moved from data collection at a high school and retirement community to literature review, manuscript writing, conference workshops, and participation in the LEAF initiative, where she helped clear weeds and plant seeds for a new garden in the women's dormitories.

A Historic Gathering in Sharjah
The TUFH 2023 conference marked the 44th annual convening of The Network: Towards Unity for Health — held for the first time in the UAE, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah.
Healthcare students, educators, policymakers, and global health leaders from across the world converged at the University of Sharjah to tackle the question: how do we move beyond boundaries to achieve true health equity? The SNO Exchange winner joined this global movement firsthand — a once-in-a-lifetime experience immersed in the heart of international health education.
