About the exchange
Sara Idris joined the 2024 exchange as a student voice within a wider movement for people, place, and policy in community wellness.
Host and conference context
The exchange connected with Ubuntu 2024 in Cape Town, a joint gathering between The Network: TUFH and Rural WONCA with university and government partners across South Africa.
Experience and learning journey
The experience brought together Cape Town exploration, community health exposure, supervised learning, and relationships with peers and health educators from different parts of the world.
Impact and reflection
The 2024 story is memorable because it placed student leadership inside a deeply human setting: learning from place, listening across cultures, and carrying Ubuntu forward as practice.

Support Future SNO Exchanges
Every SNO Exchange story begins with opportunity, and opportunity depends on support. These exchanges can only happen when enough donations and scholarship resources are available to help fund student participation, travel, learning, and global collaboration.
The SNO Exchange 2024 was more than a program – it was a journey into the heart of community-based healthcare, guided by mentors, shaped by Cape Town, and shared with a global family of future healers.
